Officers are appealing to trace a good Samaritan following a suspicious incident in Ellesmere Port.
At 4.45pm on Friday 7th November, police received reports of suspicious activity in McGarva Way, Ellesmere Port, in which a girl was approached by an unknown man. The incident is believed to have taken place at around 3.40pm.
The girl ran away and was spotted by a good Samaritan - a man - in Arthur Avenue who helped her and assisted in taking her to her home address.
Officers have since arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the original incident and officers are now looking to trace the good Samaritan as they conduct further enquiries into the exact circumstances.
Detective Sergeant Tom Philpotts said:
“Firstly, we understand the concern this incident is likely to cause in the community, and we would like to reassure members of the public that we have arrested a man in relation to this incident.
