A stoppage-time equaliser from Connor Woods earned a point for Chester FC, after Hereford opened the scoring through Aaron Skinner.
The first chance of the game saw a low shot from Pat Jones, which was closely followed by a clinical finish from Dylan Mottley-Henry, only for the offside flag to rule out the goal.
Another chance arrived eight minutes later from Jack Shorrock, whose low shot was pushed away by Theo Richardson.
Gus Mafuta had the Bulls’ first chance but his strike was comfortable for George Murray-Jones in the Seals goal.
Both P. Jones and Jack Shorrock fired towards goal from close-range midway through the first half, but last-ditch blocks from the Hereford back line extended parity.
Aaron Skinner opened the scoring for the Bulls just before the hour mark, as he headed past Murray-Jones from a floated Sam Osborne cross.
Hereford struck the woodwork twice just moments after the goal, firstly through Matt Preston’s effort and then courtesy of a Kyle Howkins header.
Fin Roberts went close after coming on as a substitute with a powerful free-kick that was denied by a diving stop from Theo Richardson.
Dylan Mottley-Henry and P. Jones also had efforts as the clock ticked on but neither found the target.
Connor Woods levelled the contest in the 97th minute with a drilled strike that nestled in the bottom corner after a fantastic, driving run.
It’s three successive away games for the Blues next week, with fixtures against Spennymoor Town, Radcliffe, and King’s Lynn Town.
