Thanks to Government backing, residents in Tattenhall and Farndon are set to benefit from Gigabit Broadband.
Over 1,900 residents across Tattenhall and Farndon will be able to upgrade their copper connection to high-speed fibre, thanks to a major project announced by Warrington-based technology company, Kloud9.
This ultrafast connection will future-proof premises, giving residents the flexibility to work from home, download films in seconds, and connect multiple devices—without compromising connection speed.
The project will be paid for using the Conservative Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, which provides rural residents with voucher—worth £1,500 for domestic households and £3,500 for business premises—to contribute towards a new local high-speed broadband connection.
The vouchers will be paid directly to Kloud9, and will cover the cost of laying the cable and building the fibre network.
The project's first phase will encourage residents to register their interest with Kloud9 at:
Once 70 per cent of residents have registered, Kloud9 can begin the project planning and deliver high-speed internet to residents.
The project will come at no additional cost to residents, provided that enough residents pledge their Broadband Voucher.
Commenting, Eddisbury MP, Edward Timpson, said:
“Two years ago, I stood on a manifesto pledge to deliver high-speed gigabit connectivity to Eddisbury.
“I'm pleased to see the progress we're making, with 56.2 per cent of Eddisbury residents now having access to gigabit-capable connection—but there is still more to be done.
“Thanks to the entrepreneurship of Kloud9—supported by Government funding—we are seeing swift improvements to connectivity in rural Cheshire.
“I look forward to meeting with the Kloud9 team soon to discuss how widely this project will benefit my constituents in Eddisbury.”
