Chester got their NWWRFL Division One South campaign underway with a dramatic victory at the Deva Stadium.
Interim Manager Kalvin Williams picked up his first victory in charge, as the Blues stormed back in the final ten minutes to win a thriller.
They got off to the perfect start on 12 minutes, with forward Emily Jones went through on goal and slotted home to give the Seals the lead against newly promoted Woolton.
The chances continued to come as the Blues made a really encouraging start to the game, with Ciara Lee firing just wide before Ellie Bradley struck the woodwork directly from a corner.
But Woolton levelled it up just after the half hour mark as Katie Thomas was played through on goal by an excellent pass and fired home beyond Sophie Foster.
Lee then went close for the hosts once more, her shot striking the crossbar just before the interval.
However the visitors came out stronger in the second half and Thomas made it a brace – once again finding the net to give MSB Woolton a 2-1 lead.
Chester pressed for a leveller, and Jones was denied by the keeper before Ellie Bradley curled over.
A grandstand finish was to come though as the Blues levelled on 84 minutes. Ciara Lee did brilliantly on the right flank to get into a good position and send in an inch-perfect cross for arriving left-back Cindy Tweedle to equalise.
Then, Williams’ side clinched it in stoppage time. Tweedle rolled a quick free kick back to Chenai Lefebvre, who whipped in a superb delivery which was glanced home by Emma Gray and send the Deva wild.
