CWaC SEND Accountability are a group of families who have voiced their concerns about the Cheshire West and Chester SEN Team.
The CWaC SEND Accountability Group have highlighted what they consider to be issues with the CWaC SEN Team. They are concerned about the welfare of vulnerable families and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
They wish to hold discussions with the professionals who are responsible for allocating school placements and support for disabled children.
They have already raised their concerns through the formal channels and now feel that protesting is their only remaining option.
Since organising the recent protest, their community has had over 1,200 likes and followers across social media platforms. Last Tuesday, they held a peaceful protest at The Portal in Ellesmere Port, which attracted approximately 80 attendees over the course of the day.
Local MPs including Sam Dixon and Justin Madders have issued statements in support of their campaign.
This month, CWaC SEND Accountability are meeting with senior officers and councillors in a 'roundtable' meeting on the 14th of May to discuss implementing changes. They are also hoping to speak at the full council meeting on May 16th.
They believe that changes are needed to safeguard the legal rights and entitlements of disabled children and young people.
