Carers Rights Day is an annual campaign developed by Carers UK, taking place on Thursday 24th November, to bring organisations together to help carers in the local community know their rights and how to get help and support.
With the current population in west Cheshire estimated to be 357,200 and one in eight people said to have a caring role by Carers UK, it means there are roughly 44,650 carers across the borough.
The Cheshire West Carer Support Service and Young Carers Service are both commissioned by the Council to offer support across the borough.
More about support when caring for someone
For this year's Carers Rights Day on 24 November, the Cheshire West Carers Support Service is holding an event at Mollington Banastre Hotel near Chester, where carers will be able to find out more about their rights and services available, including wellbeing and assistive technology support, meeting other carers and being able to enjoy complementary therapies and lunch.
On Friday 25 November, a wellbeing session is taking place at Winsford Lifestyle Centre from 11am to 1pm, with a light lunch and opportunity to find out more about available support and services for carers.
Booking is essential for both events as numbers are limited. Call:
