Chester recorded a third victory in the space of seven days as they defeated Atherton Collieries at the Deva.
Once again it was new striker Kurt Willoughby who proved to be the difference, his well taken first half goal gave Calum McIntyre’s side the win.
Prior to the opener, Darren Stephenson and Iwan Murray had both created good opportunities for themselves but failed to hit the target on their respective occasions.
But Willoughby made no mistake on 21 minutes. He latched on to a delightful pass from Joe Lynch, before his first touch and then finish oozed quality in equal measure.
Anthony Dudley saw an effort blocked and once again Stephenson failed to test Colls’ Trialist ‘keeper as the half drew to a close.
Lynch and then Dudley both went close just after the break – before the visitors slowly started to get back into the game. They had a chance to equalise late on as Aaron Smith slipped through Trialist E, but his shot was saved by Harry Tyrer.
