On Sunday 4th October, The Hammond’s Principal, Jennifer Roscoe will complete a re-routed and re-scheduled “London Marathon” around Chester raising money for CLIC Sargent and Wrexham’s Nightingale House Hospice.
Miss Roscoe will be joined by around 40 Hammond students and staff at various intervals (all entirely socially distanced!) who will complete their own sections of the 26.2-mile run.
Miss Roscoe was due to complete the London Marathon back in April but due to COVID-19, it was cancelled. Now we have The Hammond’s wonderful students back in Chester, we thought we’d make it a whole Hammond family event and complete the 26.2 miles in and around our city of Chester instead.
We are always keen to support and fundraise for local, national and international causes instilling the importance social responsibility and duty within our students – and the fact that so many have volunteered to run on Sunday given their six-day school week is a testament to the fantastic students we have.
The Hammond family are running to raise money for two brilliant causes:
CLIC SARGENT is a children's cancer charity that Miss Roscoe has supported for a long time –
And we are also privileged to run to support Nightingale House Hospice, in memory of our beloved teacher and colleague, Miss Ecc –

If you’d like to donate to either of these wonderful causes we would be immensely thankful. If you want to follow the team’s progress on Sunday, follow Hammond’s Twitter (@TheHammond1) and Instagram (@the.hammond) accounts for regular updates.
